Not to sound like a broken record, but not all roads are easy. On the same token not all dirt roads lead to dead ends.
Some of the most beautiful and remote mountain tops, lakes, waterfalls, and breathtaking scenic views are ONLY accessible by rough dirt roads with lots of pot holes.
My point? Not all good things come easy. The best things in life aren’t free or easy.
These sayings are common enough to us, but somehow there still tends to be a disconnect between knowing it will be worth it in the end, and standing in the middle of the road, pouring down rain, no help in sight, pot holes all around, and a flat tire. Such is life. We have all been there. If you haven’t, just wait, you will be some day. And when you are. Don’t stop. Don’t give up. Don’t turn around and go back. Keep going. Keep pushing. Keep walking. Even if you’re limping. Just. Keep. Moving. Forward.
I promise. It will all be worth it when you get to your destination.
This beautiful family is a testimony to that. I haven’t had the privilege of knowing them long, and I have only heard bits and pieces of their beautiful story. But from what I have heard, they are survivors. pushers. workers. when the going gets tough. they just. KEPT. GOING. and where has it led them? They are Fast approaching the celebration of their TENTH wedding anniversary.
Was it easy? I doubt it was every day, but that’s what makes it so amazingly rewarding when you get to the top of the mountain. Blood, sweat and tears, but you made it.
Jessie- It has been SO wonderful getting to know you and know a little bit about your family and your story. I can not wait to celebrate with you and your friends and family at your vow renewal ceremony! What a well earned celebration it will be!! Just from the little bit of time that I got to spend with you all I can see the love that you each have for each other, and it all starts with the love of Mom & Dad. It was so great to watch you all and I can not wait until next time! (Though I’m sure the kids would rather not endure the torture again)
I pray that as you each continue to walk through this life together that you will not see each pot hole that is in the road before you as a roadblock standing in your way but instead an agility strengthener to help strengthen you, uplift you, and give you the endurance you need not just to make it to see your 10th wedding anniversary, but to see your CHILDREN celebrate their 10th, 20th, and even 30th wedding anniversaries with the loves of their lives as well.
You guys are creating a legacy for your children and those around you that is few and far between in todays world. May God walk with you and beside you and carry you through to the end of this journey. May you find your stength in Him when you feel you just can’t take another step. May you find your direction in Him when you don’t know which way leads you where you need to go. You got this.
You guys are such an amazing family. I can’t wait to watch your beautiful journey continue to unfold.
leave some love:
