Naysa and Malachi will be participating in the Havelock Children’s Vendor Fair!!
Saturday, June 27th 2026
11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Walter B Jones Park
2 Governmental Avenue
Havelock NC 28532
https://www.childrensbusinessfair.org/56269
Naysa will be doing Mini Photo shoots as “Naysa’s Photography”
(She wanted her name as Naysa Quinonez Photography JUST LIKE MAMA’S – But after getting to make her logo we decided shorter is better ♥️ I really did try and get her to pick a fun kiddy name!! 🤦♀️ it didn’t work.)

Malachi will be screen printing and selling T-shirts (and maybe some bags)
His Business? You guessed it – Quality. Just like Dad ♥️
(He was VERY disappointed to have it changed to Quality Tees & More. It still hasn’t quite registered why it can’t be Quality Heating & Cooling)

Please come out and support not just Naysa & Malachi but also the other ambitious young girls and boys (and parents) who will be trying their hands at young entrepreneurship.
Who knows – Your support may be the encouragement that makes the difference for the next millionaire of Havelock!
Now – Keep reading to learn how we got here!
We are excited to announce that though we have stepped back from pushing our Photography Business full time, we have been building Julio’s Business: Quality Heating & Cooling, as well as doing our best to build up our now 4 children to be Godly, Caring, Responsible, and Social blessings to everyone around them.
2 summers ago, they started talking about wanting to have a food stand.
And the KEPT talking about it.
Actually it was one of the things if not THE thing they talked about MOST!!
Malachi was DETERMINED to buy a Pizza truck, and Naysa wanted to sell Lemonade.
While Malachi’s goal is a little more complicated (for the time being)
Naysa’s was something we figured we could let them try.
So with the generous help of Shawn & Lisa – The owners of Dogwood Family Campground , we set up a tent at the end of the road off 9 Mile Rd and started selling.
The kids offered sweet homemade lemonade (I had the blisters to prove it) with options of adding various homemade fruit syrups.
We told a few friends but mostly just relied on the flow of traffic to see how business would go.
With nothing more than a learning experience as the goal, the kids sold cups of cold lemonade for donations and boasted that they would take stickers as payment as well (Thank you Melissa, for taking them up on this!! ♥️ )
I assumed most of the Lemonade would return to the camper with us, because at 4 & 5 years old, I expected both littles to be tired, board, and ready to quit after about an hour.
Instead, what happened surprised me, between “customers” there was the normal running, tumbling, and fighting as only siblings can.
But when a customer showed up, it was all business.
They greeted and took care of their customers with care and pride!
This mama’s heart was bubbling over!!!
I was so proud of them!!
And as the day wore on – as hot as it may have been – They stuck with it and saw it till the end!
My mom brain is a little fuzzy so there may have been a little bit of Merchandise taken back to the camper, but for the most part they sold the whole day!!
And their little minds were shocked when they pulled out every dollar out of their pay jar to find they had made $90!! (Plus some AWESOME stickers!!)
(Momma was SHOCKED TOO!!)
That was all it took – They were hooked!
Not only that – #MomBrag – In exchange for Mr Shawn & Ms Lisa not charging them “rent” for the day – Ms Lisa encouraged them to give part away.
So they did.
After counting out Tithe and Offering to give back to God, each child was encouraged to pick somewhere to give a portion of their money too.
If I remember correctly Malachi picked “Africa” and Naysa picked “Ethiopia” – both of which our church has churches and pastors that we support.
They each then got to pick how much of their money they got wanted to give.
Both gave a sizable percentage! I once again was impressed!
From that day on, not much time passes between “when I get bigger – I’m going to…” Conversations and dreams.
Fast-forward to this year.
Our church is working to build a new building for the growing congregation.
Naysa decided a few weeks ago that she wanted to be part.
We allowed her to do so with the warning that she would be responsible for working to earn the money.
So with the help of a sweet lady from church who overpaid her to do some tasks around the house and helped her sell brownies, and her Birthday money, she took her money and put it in an envelope to give to the building fund.
I don’t know when I have seen her smile so big or her eyes so bright.
Her piggy bank was empty with the exception of some change but her heart was overflowing. And so was mine. (Along with my eyes)
As she walked out of the room holding her “Life savings” in hand with a smile the size of texas, tears rand down my cheeks as I thanked God for the sweet hearted generous Miracle of God He gave us by placing Naysa in our lives.
That sweet moment was cut short by Malachi running down the hall OUTRAGED by finding out that NAYSA got to participate and HE DIDN’T!!!
I guess there are worse things to fight about right?
We reluctantly agreed to allow him to join in participating for next month with the same warning that he would be responsible for fulfilling his commitment.
This came a little harder as Malachi had NOT yet had a birthday and didn’t have a full Piggy bank.
Though I guess that put them BOTH in the same boat now that Naysa’s was empty as well.
So with that, Naysa & Malachi’s Lemonade stand was back in Business!
After church, the kids set up a table with homemade “Crack” lemonade, sugar cookies, and even some strawberry syrup to add.
They sold out! and raised enough to cover their fundraising pledge!
Once again – They were HOOKED!!
The next week they sold Brownies, Monster Chocolate Chip Cookies, and offered plain or chocolate milk to wash it down!
Again – They sold out of the baked goods!
So when a friend who knew what they were doing and why brought this Children’s Vendor Fair to my attention, I instantly thought AWESOME!! We can sell Lemonade!! 😂
It wasnt until that same dear sweet friend reminded me that they could very easily follow in our footsteps that I though out of the box about them doing what they ALREADY help us do.
I have been a photographer since before I could drive! and I recently started screen printing shirts to help Julio out with his business as well as help our church with shirts for various events.
DUH!! Thanks Christel for getting me to think out of the box!!
When I mentioned the fair to the kids, they instantly turned into Mexican Jumping beans! (Pun intended) Naysa did NOT want to help with shirts, she wanted to be the photographer – though we have yet to determine if she will use her camera or “rent” mine.
And Malachi was persuaded to SETTLE for making shirts (since he always begs to help anyways) but ONLY after we convinced him he was not able to fix units and install HVAC systems like dad for the Kids Fair 🤣
So Here we are!
If you have made it this far, Thank you!! (And I’m sorry)
But mostly thank you! We would love to have you come and join us on June 27th for the fair!
As you guessed it, a large portion, if not all, of the proceeds will be given back to support the growth of God’s kingdom. Here locally and on the foreign mission field.
But even if you can’t make it in person, we covet your prayers that this would not just be a good experience, but that it would birth a healthy, responsible fire in their hearts for serving God, the community, working hard, and sharing in the joy of Entrepreneurship and the freedom we have in this wonderful Country of the United States of America!
Can’t wait to see you!

leave some love:
